Cooking For Winemakers

This section is for the winemaker who enjoys food and cooking.

Some of these recipes use wine as an ingredient while others are here because they pair well with a particular wine.

Shish Kabobs in Red Wine Marinade

2 lbs Beef tip cut into cubes

1 can Condensed beef consomme

1/3 cup Estate Crushendo Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon

2 tbsp Soy sauce

2 Garlic cloves - crushed

4 tsp Cornstarch


Heat consomme, Estate Crushendo Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon, soy sauce, and garlic to boiling in a 3-quart saucepan. Simmer for 5 minutes. Cool. Add meat so it is covered with sauce. Cover tightly and marinate for at least 3 hours or overnight.

Use mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes, onions, etc., on the skewers with the marinated meat. Add the cornstarch to the marinade and heat until thickened, using a whisk to keep the sauce smooth.
